Eagle Syndrome is a rare medical condition caused by an elongated styloid process or a calcified stylohyoid ligament in the neck. These changes in bone structure can press on nearby nerves and blood vessels, leading to a wide range of symptoms. People with this condition may experience persistent throat or neck pain, difficulty swallowing, earaches, headaches, dizziness, or the feeling of having something “stuck” in the throat. In some cases, it may even affect blood flow, causing vascular symptoms.
Because it’s not well known, Eagle Syndrome is often misunderstood or misdiagnosed, leaving patients searching for answers for months—or even years. Living with unexplained pain and uncertainty can be frustrating and isolating, but awareness and support make a difference. At LivingWithEagle.org, we provide a safe, understanding community where patients and caregivers can connect, share experiences, and find the encouragement they need on their journey.
